Sandwich Fellowship

Community Engagement & Socialization

Fellowship members and leaders, such as Pastor Ankomah, supported and encouraged Margaret’s initiative, enabling the ministry’s growth.

Donations

Over time, the ministry organizes classes, activities, and special events, nurturing the children’s spiritual development and community involvement.

Spiritual Engagement

The ministry began after Margaret observed children’s fascination with music and worship, prompting her to engage them spiritually.

About the GNAAS-UCC Sandwich Fellowship

From around 2010/11, Seventh-day Adventist Sandwich Students at UCC began worshiping together, a tradition that continues to this day. Previously, many Adventist students faced significant challenges, including language barriers and unfamiliarity with the surrounding area, which made it difficult to decide which church to attend. They would often travel back home, attend nearby churches, or stay indoors to celebrate the Sabbath. However, with the establishment of the fellowship building around 2010/11, sandwich students could finally meet and worship together, connecting with colleagues and enjoying structured worship activities tailored to their needs. To God’s glory, dedicated leaders and students guided the fellowship to flourish.

Today, worship services are held on Sundays (online), Wednesdays (in-person), and Saturdays (morning and afternoon). The fellowship also elects leaders for various departments and ministries and organizes major programs, such as welcoming fresh students, communion, outreach, handing over, excursions, and more. Inspired by the regular students’ efforts, the sandwich fellowship instituted an annual harvest to support the fellowship’s building projects. All these collective efforts over the years have led to the thriving Seventh-day Adventist Sandwich Students’ Fellowship at the University of Cape Coast.

All praise and thanks to God!
